The Masked Cinema 2022 - Firestarter

OK, Stephen King's novels continue to dominate our big (and small - remember The Stand on Amazon) screens. Firestarter is the latest film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.

It is yet another remake of the 1984 original. Like Pet Sematary recently.

Starring hunky Zac Efron (gosh he gets better with age), Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Sydney Lemmon, Kurtwood Smith, John Beasley, Michael Greyeyes, and Gloria Reuben.

This will be my first of two (Gold (Stan original film) incoming posts Efron posts.

Firestarter was released in the United States on Friday May 13, 2022. Oh Friday the 13th with its links to horror!

In the USA the film was also released on streaming platform Peacock (currently streaming Girls5Eva).

The film received negative reviews from critics. What did I think? Check out the verdict under the trailer.

This film sucks. Not even Efron could save it with one shirtless scene.

Like Morbius recently, the film is short, still though there is no point to it.

Blumhouse Productions usually have hits on their hands, this most definitely is a MISS!

At 94 minutes this film really was dull. There are a couple of jump moments however I was bored AF for 90 of the 94 minutes.

2022 is really not serving up many hits at the cinema. Luckily I had vouchers again to see this film. As I would struggle to pay a $1 to watch it.

Filmed in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, this is a 1 star film. Just awful, AVOID at all costs!
