Empire, Finale (2019)

Empire was once one of the most watched shows on US television, the FOX network had a pure hit on it's hands. Like the previous music drama Glee, Empire was also making money out of soundtracks and music releases as well as other TV income.

However in the past few years Empire has gone off the rails a bit. Well this season it's publicly gone off the rails.

Last year I was rather impressed with the fourth seasons finale, it had some major departures, this season we saw a body/or a coffin all season long, in the eighteenth episode of the season, we find out who the body is!

SHOCK horror, it's no major character, however due to real world drama Jamal is OUT, and has been since his wedding.

Jamal is not set to return to season six which was very recently renewed however I am not sure why. Ratings have crashed this year, the early comments about the season five finale are not overly friendly as it was a VERY tidy finale. One death leads into one major characters luck.

The whole Jamal MIA with some storm hitting was handled in an interesting manner and with Becky and Giselle off to a new venture where will this see Cookie? Where is Lucious off to? Do any viewers till care?

With Star hanging in the balance on FOX will some cast members join Empire if it gets the axe? What will the Star final bring, let me get to that next along with some more TV finales coming as below -

Veep, this coming Monday (Sunday 12 May in the USA) - Last EVER episode!

9-1-1, Monday 13 May (USA), Season three starts later this year, already renewed.

The Flash, Tuesday 14 May (USA), Season Six returns later this year, already renewed, with Batwoman joining the Arrowverse. Go Ruby Rose!

Riverdale, Wednesday 15 May (USA), Season four incoming later this year, spin off Katy Keene featuring Josie also landing in the 2019-2020 TV season on The CW. Will it air on Netflix in Australia?

Station 19, Thursday 16 May (USA), renewal in waiting. However it's been a hit in it's second season. I expect like Grey's Anatomy, it'll be back in September.

The Blacklist, Friday 17 May (USA), on Netflix in Australia, a little delayed. NBC has given The Blacklist a seventh season, commencing TBA.

Barry, Sunday 19 May (USA), Already renewed on HBO for a third season, maybe it should be it's last.

Sunday 19 May (USA) is not only Barry's finale on HBO, but Game of Thrones will air for the final time EVER! Spin off's are in the works but will they get as many viewers as this huge blockbuster? Supergirl also wraps on The CW, renewed already for a fifth season.

Legends of Tomorrow, Monday 20 May (USA), returns for a fifth season in the near distant future.

Dynasty, Friday 24 May (USA), wraps it's bat shit crazy second season and will return for another at some stage. Why this got a third season I will never know? However if anything it's a camp and wild even at times stupid ride.

Killing Eve, Sunday 26 May (USA), wraps it's second tough season, it'll be back for a third in due course.

Blindspot, Friday 31 May (USA), surely the third season will be the final. It's been bumped to the end of the month. Blindspot airs it's final two episodes at the very end of May. Signs are not looking good the tattoos will see a fourth outing.

Bring on the US TV Summer Season for 2019!
