RE: Five Bedrooms

Only in my last post I was WAY harsh on Five Bedrooms the new drama on Channel Ten Wednesday nights. So I had a flight to the beautiful NT, Uluru precisely, I needed entertainment so I had the second episode to watch and well. It was marginally better than the first.

It did as expected however slide in the ratings (although I think Dramas generally do better on catch up, in this case Ten Play) from 507K viewers to 428K viewers. Not as bad as Mr Black episode one (471K) Vs episode two (278K).

Channel Ten however has a problem, they need another Offspring, Playing for Keeps was camp, fun, but with a murder mystery that was 100% unnecessary with the bed hopping and on field (AFL) dramas.

I can't even go there with 10 All Access, there streaming competition to Netflix and Stan which is just lame. The single show they are asking people to fork out $9.99 a month is a remake of The Twilight Zone. In the USA the CBS (Ten's owner) has 4 million subscribers from a country with over 330 million folks. With that strike rate 10 All Access would be like to have 40 paid subscribers.

You can check out the naff page HERE.

To news on Channel Ten, where they have limited shows, no breakfast TV show, just Studio Ten with racist and over the top Kerri Anne Kennel Dog barking down the camera, Ita must be thrilled she jumped ship to a top job at the ABC.

Meanwhile the Project which is the nightly dogs breakfast maybe losing Waleed Aly to Q&A. Yes the ABC has not only had it's top jobs up for re-hire all over SEEK but the following top jobs needed replacing -

Insiders, Sunday Morning host, David Speers (maybe) to take Barrie Cassidy's place.

ABC Melbourne Breakfast Radio host, Virginia Trioli to take Jon Faine's controversial role. Making a spot on the ABC News Breakfast IKEA couch available, most likely for Lisa Millar.

Q&A host, likely to be Waleed Aly leaving the project with expensive host Lisa Wilkinson.

You can see why SKY news are pissed losing only one of their moderate presenters, Channel Ten losing one of their most shared YouTube contributors through Aly's monologues on The Project and the remainder of the Project hosts not looking too pissed at how much Lisa Wilkinson is getting paid for almost being a part time employee.

I found this as well this morning, the Top 100 USA shows of the 2018-2019 season. Unfortunately one of my favourites (definite favourite finales) has been canned. It got into the 100 (just) so I do hope Netflix can help me, Brandy and the cast out and get Star back on the air, please! Pretty please?

Final note on TV, huge returns soon as follows -

Animal Kingdom - Season 4, Netflix (I hope), Tuesday 28 May

Wentworth - Season 7 (yes 7!, 8th in 2020), Foxtel, Tuesday 28 May

Swamp Thing - Season 1, episode one, unsure in Australia where, Friday 31 May

Fear the Walking Dead - Season 5 (and last????), Australian time on Monday 3 June, Foxtel

The Handmaids Tale - Season 3, first three episodes on SBS on Demand, Thursday 6 JUNE (like the character, June)

Big Little Lies - Season 2, Australian time on Monday 10 June, Foxtel

Pose - Season 2, Australian time on Wednesday 12 June, Foxtel

Stranger Things - Season 3, Netflix, Friday 5 July, 8 episode season, all episodes

Who needs to leave the house this Winter right?

Until next time, goodbye from the NT, like the ad C U in the NT....
