November/December TV Finales - Euphoria (Special Episode - one of two)

Euphoria was renewed for a second season way back in mid 2019 ahead of season one concluding. Season one was a short order of eight episodes so creator Sam Levinson has two special episodes planned to bridge the season one, season two gap.

First up aired over the weekend, Trouble Don't Last Always, Part 1: Rue. So I am assuming Part II is Jules?

The show itself is one of those ones where COVID protocols would be extremely difficult to follow. In its first season Euphoria really pushed the boundaries, hard.

This special episode however could be a look a doing episodes with less sex and physical touch and more distance. The episode was largely in a diner with Rue and Ali. Zendaya as Rue Bennett has broken her former good girl brand. It also won her an Emmy, People's Choice Awards and a Satellite Award for best actress.

The show has done exceptionally well for HBO. Like baker & the Beauty before it, the US version is loosely based on the Israeli miniseries of the same name.

When we will see the second episode of these special two before season two airs is anyones guess, that is this falls under my November/December TV Finales series.

This episode which totally hits you in the feels is a bleak Christmas TV piece that sets up and keeps the viewers up to date with the latest Rue and Jules drama.

I loved season one, it was fresh, raw and confronting. It showed growing up in this modern world warts and all. There was little holding back. Zendaya really is a star, the music used is epic and I am interested to see where creator Sam Levinson is taking us in season two.

I hope to have another show Binged in time for my next post tomorrow. Also the wonderful Shameless has just returned for a very COVID inspired final season.

See you tomorrow.
