When will Andrew Bolt Learn?

The Bolt Report is currently the best comedy airing on Channel 10. Now I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here is done, the most absurd program airing on the troubled network is The Bolt Report, get my point, it's out there, out dated and at times just plain weird.

I like to think I am progressive, helpful to other human beings (regardless of their colour, faith, blah blah blah) but it's shows like this that set us back a couple of decades.

His interview (or more likely his chat, he is no Leigh Sales, Emma Alberici or Tony Jones) with Malcolm Turnball on the weekend was a great laugh. Andrew really doesn't like Malcolm, he has written loads of pieces on his left leaning ways and belief of Global Warming that completely goes against his old school beliefs.

On a poll on great website TV Tonight, it currently asked who is the most biased interviewer? And surprise, surprise, Mr Bolt tops the list with 61%. Yes that's more than half the people who have bothered to have a crack at this survey.

The sad thing is Andrew Bolt always thinks he is right (right in more than one sense of the word), his blog readers seem to be some of the most unhinged people living and seem consumed by articles published in Murdoch tabloids like the charming Daily Telegraph, the ridiculous Courier Mail & The Herald Sun.

In a world of 24 news hour cycles it's dangerous when people only listen to/read one source. The Murdoch press has a campaign to bring down their biggest Australian competitor the ABC/SBS. The ABC publishes a wonderful website along with great additional FREE content. This is something Murdoch hates.

He also can not be a fan of the only decent free streaming service iView alongside the now falling Foxtel. With the introduction of Stan, Presto (owned by Foxtel) & Netflix it's hard for the once great Foxtel to remain a major player against these $10 a month, cancel anytime streaming services. Just BYO interest and you have a winter warmer pack for all shapes and sizes, young and old.

So with Mr Bolt's employer (well the Murdoch part) on the defensive and we all know about Channel 10 (thank god for Masterchef) it's no wonder he likes to make an example of success stories.

Channel 10 has to be one of the most unsuccessful media businesses in Australia (rivalled only by Southern Cross Austereo Radio - poor old Dan & Maz, no amount of outdoor advertising can rise them from a 3% audience share) with poor content and then the Bolt Report to boot.

I remember when Channel 10 was king, Melrose Place, 90210, E-Street, The Simpsons and a decent newsroom staff. Now look at them, The Project, 5pm news and that horrid Studio 10.

The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun and The Courier Mail aren't much better, making headlines in other media outlets, online blogs and socially dues to poor taste headlines and the backflip, front flips and Fair Go to the West campaign around Struggle Street is off the fucking chain.

Andrew, dear man, we share the same name, but you have a lot to learn, your views are out of date, your show is more horrific than Catching Milat and if ever I need good laugh I head along to your blog and read your words of wisdom and then the hatred and outrage that comes from your readers in your comments.

I can't forget to mention you also love a little 2GB time. Good lord theres a funny bunch of crazed talk back callers, fucking hell, the rage stirred on that station is outrageous.

The word would be a better place if Andrew Bolt, Miranda Devine, Vile Kyle, David Koch, Tony Abbott and Chris Pyne were all sent on a Survivor mission, but then to never return. It would make awesome reality TV. Unlike House Rules which I caught some of last night. My mum and dad brought me up to never judge what I haven't experienced, watched, read, meet and I watched half an hour of House Rules last night and I now know I am different to the mainstream Australian who thinks reality TV is entertaining. I am passionate about excellence and House Rules is FAR from excellent, as is Andrew Bolt and that's where I sign off. Morning xOxO
