April/May Finales - Batwoman (Season 1)

Oh dear we have a problem. Not only did Batwoman's first season only film 20 out of it's 22 season order, but it has now lost Batwoman! WTF!

Yes Ruby Rose is leaving the show after not even (really) one season.

The CW got in early, announced some lame October to December programming whilst in January 2021 they plan on dishing out a number of DC and regular shows.

Batwoman has been one of the best shows on The CW. Supergirl, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have all felt a little long in the tooth this year, so it was nice to get a new DC hero that does however have familiar feels for viewers.

When Kate Kane (aka Batwoman aka formerly Ruby Rose) is associated to Bruce Wayne and Arkham Asylum is one of the main sets for part of the season.

So I am happy I watched this episode, episode 20, the unofficial season finale after I knew Ruby Rose was jumping ship.

The episode also set up which could have been an interesting crossover with Supergirl, however we may never know now that Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is due to have a baby causing the show to be delayed till Summer 2021.

So along with the show ending early, the lead leaving, a cool crossover maybe never getting resolved this was a random ending. Much like Riverdale, Empire and I am assuming the actual Supergirl season 5 finale this felt incomplete.

Here is hoping The CW get someone awesome to fill Ruby's shoes. I actually think she did a great job. Not just because she is Aussie but because the show got me slightly more interested in the Arrowverse which is really getting a little tired. At least the first episode of Stargirl was very promising.

So if you have a chance check out the new Stargirl series on the DC platform. Stargirl was briefly introduced in the recent Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Batwoman, not sure what will happen in the future, however I will return for season two.
