April/May Finales - The Flash (Season 6)

I have always been harsh when it comes to The Flash. From all the Arrowverse shows, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman and Black Lightening, The Flash is the most wholesome.

At times it's almost too straighty 180 for me. Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / Flash is literally the boy next door type to the tee.

This season has been a bit bat shit crazy too. Iris stuck in a mirror, the massive crossover, Arrow ending and some random villains who I think have popped up before.

Now like Riverdale and Empire The Flash did not complete filming the sixth season. So really episode nineteen was not meant to be the season finale. Also with COVID-19 the show will not be able to film for some time. Therefore The Flash's incomplete sixth season will not be resolved until 2021.

I also have to ask The CW, 22 or 23 episode seasons no longer work. This had so many filler episodes. Not to mention the annual crossover. Apparently the 2021 Arrowverse will be much smaller next season. Supergirl is off to have a baby. In real life. So Supergirl will have an even longer break however spinoff series from Supergirl, Superman & Lois taking her place early in 2021 and taking part in the crossover.

The Flash has also dipped in ratings again this season. Like all the Arrowverse shows relying on the crossover to be it's highest rated episode.

I hope the seventh (and final episodes of the sixth season) have a bit of a reboot. The Flash is feeling a little stale. Sadly for The CW it's the stations most popular series again. I feel the show has at least one or at the most two seasons left. Considering Arrow finished with eight seasons, I can't the see The Flash lasting much longer than the lead show in the Arrowverse.

With Batwoman appearing slightly darker, more real and intense, The Flash really does feel a little flat this season.

I would have liked to have seen the Iris mirror shit resolved. So here is looking to 2021 when The CW rolls out only half it's series early 2021, keeping DC’s Legends of Tomorrow; Dynasty, In the Dark, Roswell, New Mexico and Supergirl till midseason. Meaning May/June or even July 2021. They currently have two new shows also coming in this time KUNG FU and THE REPUBLIC OF SARAH.

Speaking of The CW, Katy Keene's April/May Finale review coming soon, as is Station 19 and the final ever How to Get Away with Murder.
