April/May Finales - Riverdale (Season 4)

Riverdale 100% jumped the shark this season. What made matters worse was the realness of Katy Keene. The spin off show, apparently set five years after Riverdale (apparently) concludes.

I think the fifth season should maybe be the last. Try and go out with a bang. However I feel The CW and Netflix deals will allow this show to die a slow and painful death.

Finishing up three episodes earlier than originally intended (like most of The CW series) Riverdale was one of the first shows to be struck with COVID-19.

I can't see this show filming it's fifth season for a while. I also think The CW needs to look at these drawn out 22 episode seasons. They don't work. The filler episodes add to the show losing audiences and interest.

DVR figures (for each episode) generally match the live viewers this season. Therefore without DVR viewers and Netflix deals this show has a tiny audience.

Killing Mr Honey is the title of the episode with Mr Honey threatening to cancel the kids prom. Although the kids don't really look or act much like kids these days.

The problem with teenage dramas based at a high school, is how do they leave high school. How can they continue when some of the kids will no doubt (like in real life) go their own way.

With Jughead maybe heading to University of Iowa whilst Archie could be bound for the Naval Academy. A couple of the parents plan on leaving next season too. Marisol Nichols as Hermione Lodge and Skeet Ulrich as F. P. Jones may now stick around for some of the first (last episodes of season four) episodes of season five.

The fifth season needs a major reboot. This season has been a red hot mess, although Archie is getting more red hot, as the seasons go on.

Here is hoping season five improves, does a major time jump and gets it's shit together!
