That Movie Gay #2016

Oh Maggie Smith, you are a dream boat and THE LADY IN THE VAN.

This movie (according to the Sunday Telegraph - so it could be right, most likely wrong) is the Number One film in this nation right now. Yes a movie aimed squarely at the over 50's (and most likely female) is the number one movie ahead of Deadpool and Star Wars.

This movie marks around 15 or so years of Alan Bennett's life where Miss Mary Shepard lived in his driveway in a Van, yes a Van making the film the Lady in the Van. The film is filled with great characters and Maggie Smith shining as Mary Shepard also known as Margaret Fairchild.

The film is amazing and so well done, a shame though the film was released in Australia almost 5 months after it's release in England, hello Piracy BBC films.

But I guess most movie pirates do not fall into the demographic this movie aims to please with laughter and good times. I as a mid 30's viewer really enjoyed this despite it's clear aim at the Downton Abbey gang.

The Lady in the Van is sweet, touching and mostly a true story and my second film for a Sunday double feature, rather enjoyable viewing, 3.5 Stars.
