Rosie Batty is..

One of the most amazing, inspiring and wonderful people I have ever had the opportunity to witness speaking to an audience.

In support of her new book, Rosie appeared as part of the Sydney Writers Festival last night at Sydney's Seymour Centre.

After a break in Bali and an opportunity to do something different, this one hour speech gave me the inspiration to know that anything is possible. Rosie proves that literally anything is possible and after what Rosie had been through she is a strong and wonderful woman.

The crowd (and interviewee Tracey Spicer) were largely silent during the answers to the questions by former Channel 10 (now Sky News) reporter Spicer.

We heard about Batty's early days in the UK before her romances and that day in Australia. Australian of the year this year Rosie challenges and keeps the government on the right path to looking into and working on the on going problem of domestic violence.

This problem (along with gambling, alcohol abuse & mental illness) is such a large problem in Australia right now and for someone like this with her experience and her passion for change I can see a brighter future for women in a similar position to what Rosie was faced with.

This was such an important and moving evening and I want to thank Rosie for giving up her time, not only to promote what I am sure is a brilliant and heartbreaking book but to continue her work in this field.

Rosie Batty easily one of the most amazing people I have witnessed public speak.
