@ the Movies 2012 - The Sapphires

Yes for real, it has made over 10 million dollars at the box office and it has been a month or so since it's release and the first time I saw it, so it was high time I saw the film again and laughed, smiled and was almost (yes almost) moved to tears.

This movie is one of the country's best, for Bazs Luhmans horrible Australia, this is a movie for Australians, showing Australia off and has such international appeal.  It looks at the time it was set and does the era such justice.

Jessica Mauboy is just magic and her voice and screen presence are right on.  Me predicts she ditches the dodgy Aussie RnB, attempted hip hop scene and brings some soul on her next release.

Deb Mailman is fab and her and Chris O'Dowd have this amazing connection.  Last time I rated this film 4.75 Australian All Stars, but this time around seeing more and checking out the eye candy or Tory Kittles again, was amazing.

So this time, it's a film to be remembered, it's an instant Aussie classic, 5 stars!
